More than a perfume, Shalimar L'Essence is a declaration of love. It is the love of Delphine Jelk, Creative Director of Guerlain Parfums, for the House's heritage icon, and particularly for its most emblematic note, the keystone of its sillage: vanilla. To the ethyl vanillin present in Jacques Guerlain's original formula, Delphine Jelk adds precious vanilla tincture from Madagascar, crafted using time-honored Guerlain techniques, to offer a new intensity to Shalimar without altering its signature.
Discreet and subtle, bergamot illuminates the floral heart, which combines rose absolute with the powdery elegance of iris. Little by little, Shalimar's amber unfolds, deeper than ever. Used in an overdose, vanilla infuses it with new facets that are at once sweet, woody, and slightly leathery.
For Shalimar L'Essence, Guerlain reinterprets the logo of its iconic bottle. A nod to Art Deco, the contemporary artistic movement of Shalimar. Assembled into a bold, graphic logo, the letters are crafted in a golden hue reminiscent of the fragrance itself. Both rooted in its history and resolutely contemporary, the iconic bottle creates a bridge between the timeless Shalimar and the Shalimar of tomorrow.
